The Mushroom Hunter's Net
The Mushroom Hunter’s Net emerged from their pouch the moment the bustling tones of the Dyer’s Polypore came into view on the moss-covered crest of a long fallen tree. The Hunter crept slowly forward, taking careful footsteps on the not-quite-moist forest floor. The season’s rains had not begun to fall, so the sighting of this robust fungus was somewhat of a surprise. The Hunter edged ever closer, so as not to spook the young mushroom. As the Hunter approached, the fungus glistened and gleamed and showed off its healthy gills. The Hunter, appreciating the burgeoning life of this useful little fun guy, reconsidered their harvest and slowly retreated. Another day, perhaps.
